Dr. Larry Komer is a well-known authority in obstetrics and gynecology who has conducted extensive research into issues relating to women's health. He is an active member of the consulting staff in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington, Ontario, where he also maintains a busy private practice. Recently appointed medical editor for the innovative journal, Obstetrics and Gynecology 2000, Dr. Komer is considered to be one of today's leading experts on menopause.
The founder and director of the Peak Performance Institute, an organization dedicated to "developing the mind, to improve performance," Dr. Komer is also co-creator with his wife, Joan, a self-esteem counselor, of the very popular Be Menopositive public information seminars held nationwide.

Dr. Komer earned his medical degree from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University's School of Medicine and has held positions in the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada; the Ontario Medical Association, Section of Obstetrics and Gynecology; and is Past President of the Ontario Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Komer is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (F.R.C.S.C) and a member of the North American Menopause Society.
